| | Richard A. Jobe | Title: Tenor, Board Member Richard A. Jobe, tenor, is a founding member of the ensemble since its inception in 2000. Richard is Music Director & Organist of Mayflower Congregational Church (UCC) in Oklahoma City (since 1989), Staff Coach/Accompanist for the School of Music at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK (since 1997), and Music Director of Temple B'nai Israel in Oklahoma City (since 2008). While attending Oklahoma Baptist University as a Organ Performance major, he was a semi-finalist in the National Undergradute Organ Competition in Ottumwa, Iowa. As a singer, Richard has placed in NATS competitions, competed in Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, and sung principal roles in opera and oratorio. His work in the Vocal Arts/Opera division at UCO has afforded him the opportunity to prepare and conduct many mainstage opera productions, collaborate with guest artists of international acclaim, and perform frequently with UCO faculty and students. In 1999, Richard was the featured organist with the UCO Choral Society's tour of Italian cathedrals, and has been the featured soloist in the organ concertos of G. F. Handel, Poulenc, and Leo Sowerby. Last season, he performed as harpsichord soloist in performances of Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and Bach's complete Brandenburg Concerti with the UCO Chamber Orchestra. The many artists with whom Richard has worked include Marilyn Horne, Martin Katz, George Darden, Edith Davis, Leona Mitchell, Barbara Caprilli, Sherrill Milnes, Patricia Wise, Virginia Dupuy, James Higdon, André Lash, Kay Creed, and Tess Remy-Schumacher. Richard is the featured organist on the Taylor Festival Choir's latest CD release, This is Thine Hour, O Soul. |
